My practice is based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where I live.
I'm licensed to practice law in all South Carolina courts, but for the most part, my cases are either in Spartanburg or in the adjacent counties of Greenville, Cherokee, Union, or Laurens. Most of my clients have been charged in either the Spartanburg County Court of General Sessions or Spartanburg Magistrate Court. I also represent people charged with DUIs and misdemeanor offenses in the Municipal Courts within Spartanburg County (City of Spartanburg, Wellford, Duncan, Landrum, Inman, Lyman, Pacolet, Campobello, Woodruff, Cowpens, Chesnee, Greer).
I'm also an active member of the state bars of Georgia and North Carolina.
I'm originally from Atlanta, and still occasionally take cases in the metro Atlanta area and in the Northeast Georgia courts near the South Carolina line (like Carnesville/Franklin County, Toccoa/Stephens County, Hartwell/Hart County, Clayton/Rabun County, and Clarkesville/Habersham County). Spartanburg's a short drive to Charlotte and Asheville, so I also occasionally take cases in the North Carolina counties between the two (Buncombe County, Henderson County, Polk County, Rutherford County, Cleveland County, Gaston County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg County).
I do not have a public-facing, brick and mortar office space.
I used to, but more and more clients are comfortable having most of their initial consultations over the phone or on Zoom. Some people aren't, and that's OK too - I am flexible with either meeting at a location of your choosing, or at one of several private conference rooms in downtown Spartanburg or Greenville that are available for me to rent on a short-term basis. But I do most of my work in a courtroom, in a jail visitation room, or on a computer, so I'd rather not have to charge a higher fee just to pay monthly rent for an office I don't use.
